Gardening Group- Summer Term22-03-2016 | 21:31:38 | No Comments

We have a new gardening group for the Summer Term and they have got off to a great start by preparing the flower beds in the quiet area, lots of weeding and removing debris involved.

We have also initially planted some spring flowering plants, primroses and Narcissus to brighten up the area and add some early spring colour. Well done Connor F, Olivia M, Lucie R and Olivia R. See the photos below of the group working hard.  We will be continuing to brighten up the quiet area and around our Woody tree and office area during the Summer Term when we will also be working on our vegetable garden behind the Valentine Building.

The bulbs planted by the Autumn Term group are also starting to flower so we should hopefully have lots of lovely plants and flowers throughout spring and summer.  Well done everyone!

School Counci lbanner

Hi everyone,

The School Council have been very busy this term, working on your suggestions and deciding what to use our budget for in the best possible way to improve St David’s for us all.

First of all, we decided to make the entrance to our School appear more welcoming, so we have purchased two nice ‘welcome’ window stickers and two lovely personalised ‘Welcome to St David’s School’  mats, one for the office entrance and one for the Valentine building, shown below.

We have also been working with The Friends of St David’s to purchase 3 fabulous new green picnic benches for the School Field!  These have now arrived, just in time for the summer term- check out our photos!

We have also been in discussions with Mrs Boulton to possibly bring in some after school baking classes, once The Friends of St David’s have purchased a new cooker for us all to use.  We will keep you posted…

Also, starting in Summer 2 Term we will be bringing in a ‘Home-worker of the Half Term’ Award.  There will be one winner each half term, someone who has completed their home-work well and on time every week during the half term.  Each winner will receive their own copy of the certificate below along with a Golden Ticket.  We will also be purchasing some home-work award stickers and stamps for teachers to award each week to children completing their home-work.  Don’t forget, if you are struggling to complete your home-work on time, you can always go to Home-work club, which is on Mondays from 3.30-4.00pm in the Garden room. If you’re interested ask your parent or carer to speak to Miss Flynn about adding your name to the list.
